At PVpharm, we continuously strengthen our commitment to advancing pharmacovigilance through international collaboration and professional training. In this context, we are proud to have participated in the Diploma in Applications of Pharmacovigilance organised by the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Panama.
Our contribution was led by our CEO, José Alberto Ayala Ortiz, who joined the programme as an international lecturer, sharing his expertise in pharmacovigilance from a practical perspective aligned with European regulatory standards.
Contribution to Module 4
PVpharm’s participation focused on Module 4 of the Diploma, which addresses the application of pharmacovigilance in real-world settings and its interaction with the pharmaceutical industry. During his sessions, José covered key topics including:
- Methods for reporting adverse drug reactions
- Interaction between pharmaceutical companies and marketing authorisation holders
- Signal detection and evaluation
- Practical implementation in hospital and community pharmacy settings
In addition, José played an active role in the discussion and evaluation of applied projects, where participants presented initiatives aimed at strengthening pharmacovigilance systems within the Panamanian healthcare environment.
Driving Impact-Oriented Pharmacovigilance
The programme stood out for its strong practical focus, closely aligned with PVpharm’s philosophy of translating regulatory knowledge into actionable solutions that enhance patient safety.
Through this participation, our CEO was able to share real-world experience in pharmacovigilance management, covering regulatory, operational, and strategic aspects that are essential in today’s global pharmaceutical landscape.
International Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
At PVpharm, we firmly believe in the value of collaboration between academia, healthcare authorities, and industry experts. The initiative led by the University of Panama is a clear example of how specialised training can support the development and strengthening of pharmacovigilance systems across Latin America.
For our team, it has been especially rewarding to contribute to the training of highly engaged professionals and to exchange knowledge within a dynamic and academically rigorous environment.
